SOLAR POWER PLANTS AS PART OF BUSINESS STRATEGY
Reka Cables is committed to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and to making sustainable business choices. Local solar energy production at the Keuruu and Riihimäki factories came up for consideration along with other sustainable development actions, and solar power plants have become part of Reka's sustainability measures. Solar power plants were installed on the walls of Reka's production facilities in 2020.
"The construction of the solar power plants went smoothly alongside our own production activities, without any complications. We feel that the implementation of the solar power plants has also been a great step for us," claims Anne Tillgren, Production Manager at Reka Cables.
Reka's solar power plants are wall-mounted, so they are visible on the outside, and they have attracted a great deal of positive comments both within the company and from external stakeholders.
Anne Tillgren has been satisfied with Solarigo, and the proof of this is the fact that Reka is considering expanding the current power plants as part of their continuous sustainability work.

At the same time, Reka's other energy procurement was changed to Lumme Energia's CO2-free electricity.
